This years NBA trade season was one for the books. Teams did not wait until the actual deadline and the deals started nice and early.
Here’s a recap of what Teams did and who the winners are:
Washington Wizards: Trae Young
Atlanta Hawks: CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert
Winner: Washington! The Wizards didn’t have to give up much to get the former all-star who can still play the point at a high level.
Cleveland Cavaliers: Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis
Sacramento Kings: De’Andre Hunter
Chicago Bulls: Dario Saric, 2027 second-round pick and 2029 second-round pick
Winner: Cleveland! The Cavaliers add depth to the guard position which is always critical during the playoffs.
Portland Trail Blazers: Vit Krejci
Atlanta Hawks: Duop Reath, 2027 second-round pick and 2030 second-round pick
Winner: Portland! Adding another upcoming young talent to their core.
Utah Jazz: Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landal and Vince Williams Jr.
Memphis Grizzlies: Kyle Anderson, Walter Clayton Jr., Taylor Hendricks, George Niang and three future first-round picks
Winner: Utah! The Jazz pick up one of the best power forwards in the league. A former defensive player of the year, who’s still in his prime. The addition of Jackson will result in a fascinating front court in Utah.
Chicago Bulls: Mike Conley and Jaden Ivey
Detroit Pistons: Kevin Huerter, Dario Saric and 2026 first-round pick swap (Minnesota)
Minnesota Timberwolves: Cash considerations
Winner: Chicago! The Bulls add a good young talent, who still has high aspirations. Ivey will get plenty of playing time in Chicago alongside Giddey and Buzelis, to further develop his skills.
Chicago Bulls: Anfernee Simons and second-round pick
Boston Celtics: Nikola Vucevic and second-round pick
Winner: Boston! The Celtics add the Center they’ve been looking for all season. Vucevic was having a great year in Chicago; however, he did not fit in the Bulls future.
Los Angeles Clippers: Darius Garland and 2026 second-round pick
Cleveland Cavaliers: James Harden
Winner: Cleveland! The Cavaliers while playing at a decent level this season, were clearly not having the year one would expect for a Team with the highest payroll in the league. Something had to give and they swung for the fences with a former MVP and All-Star.
Washington Wizards: Anthony Daivs, Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum
Dallas Mavericks: Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley, 2026 first-round pick (OKC), 2030 first-round pick (Golden State, top 20 protected), 2026 second-round pick (Phoenix), 2027 second-round pick (Chicago) and 2029 second-round pick (Houston)
Winner: Washington! While the Mavericks pick up some key draft capital, the Wizards pick up the best player in the deal. Seems like the rebuild process has come to an end. The additions of Davis and Young (from a previous trade), to their young core, plus a possible great pick in this year’s draft, could push the Wizards to the playoffs sooner than expected.
Oklahoma City Thunder: Jared McCain
Philadelphia 76ers: 2026 first-round pick (Houston), 2027 second-round pick (most fav. of OKC/HOU/IND/MIA) and two 2028 second-round picks (from OKC/MIL)
Winner: Oklahoma City! McCain fits nicely with the champion Thunder who just keep adding talent to their impressive roster.
Chicago Bulls: Colllin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng, 2029 second-round pick (least fav. of DEN/CHI), 2031 second-round pick (NYK) and 2031 second-round pick (DEN)
Charlotte Hornets: Mike Conely, Coby White and 2029 second-round pick (most fav. of ATL/MIA)
Oklahoma City Thunder: Mason Plumlee (waived)
Winner: Chicago! Stock piling draft capital.
Brooklyn Nets: Ochai Agbaji and second-round pick
Los Angeles Clippers: Draft rights to Vanja Marinkovic
Toronto Raptors: Chris Paul
Winner: Even! Teams just moving smaller assets; in this situation the Raptors will waive Paul and get under the ‘apron’ and the tax line.
Atlanta Hawks: Jock Landale
Utah Jazz: Lonzo Ball and cash considerations
Cleveland Cavaliers: Two second-round picks
Winner: Atlanta!
Charlotte Hornets: Tyus Jones, 2027 second-round pick (least fav. of BOS/ORL)
Orlando Magic: Cash considerations
Winner: Charlotte!
Atlanta Hawks: Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Heild
Golden State Warriors: Kristaps Porzingis
Winner: Atlanta! While the Warriors add someone who’ll play the five in their system, Kristaps is unreliable due to health concerns. He’s also a free agent this summer. Kuminga joins the up-and-coming Hawks and should fit nicely alongside Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dyson Daniels, Onyeka Okongwu and Zaccharie Risacher
Toronto Raptors: Trayce Jackson-Davis
Golden State Warriors: 2026 second-round pick (LAL)
Winner: Toronto! Add big man depth, low risk, low cost, plus a team option this summer.
Chicago Bulls: Guerschon Yabusele
New York Knicks: Dalen Terry
Winner: Even!
Minnesota Timberwolves: Ayo Dosunmu
Chicago Bulls: Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller, 2026 second-round pick (least fav. of DEN/GS), 2027 second-round pick (CLE), 2031 second-round pick (most fav. of MIN/GS) and 2032 second-round pick (most fav. of PHX/HOUS)
Winner: Minnesota! Adding great depth to their roster.
Los Angeles Lakers: Luke Kennard
Atlanta Hawks: Gabe Vincent and 2032 second-round pick
Winner: Los Angeles! Shooting is what they needed and shooting is what they get.
Memphis Grizzlies: Eric Gordon and 2032 second-round pick swap
Philadelphia 76ers: 2032 second-round pick swap
Winner: Even!
Milwaukee Bucks: Nigel Hayes-Davis and Ousmane Dieng
Phoenix Suns: Cole Anthony and Amir Caffey
Chicago Bulls: Nick Richards
Winner: Even! Milwaukee gets a good young player in Dieng, Chicago gets a serviceable center in Richards and Phoenix adds depth at the guard position with Anthony.
New York Knicks: Jose Alvarado
New Orleans Pelicans: Dalen Terry, two second-round picks and cash considerations
Winner: New York! By trading for Alvarado, the Knicks add depth.
Brooklyn Nets:Huner Tyson and 2032 second-round pick
Denver Nuggets: 2026 second-round pick (least fav. of LAC/ATL)
Winner: Brooklyn!
Indian Pacers: Ivica Zubac and Kobe Brown
Los Angeles Clippers: Bennedict Mathurin, Isiah Jackson, 2026 first-round pick (protected 1-4, 10-30), 2029 first-round pick and future second-round pick
Winner: Indiana! While the Clippers add some young talent and draft assets, the Pacers look to next season by adding a Center they needed all season. Zubac will fit nicely with Siakam and the retuning Haliburton (next season).
Charlotte Hornets: Malaki Branham
Dallas Mavericks: Tyus Jones
Winner: Dallas!
Charlotte Hornets: Xavier Tilman
Boston Celtics: Cash considerations
Winner: Boston! The Celtics shed additional payroll to reduce their payroll tax.
Utah Jazz: Chris Boucher, second-round pick and cash considerations
Boston Celtics: John Tonje
Winner: Boston!
